Moddy 376. Built 1990. Moody’s reputation for building quality cruising yachts, combining good looks, good performance and roomy accommodation, is based greatly on their range of centre cockpit yachts, introduced in the 1970’s. The Moody 376 has a powerful hull form and exhibits excellent all-round performance and effortless handling. She handles supremely well in heavy weather and inspires great confidence in all who sail her.
Down below notable features include the luxurious rear cabin with separate heads and a very comfortable Main Cabin. There is an Eberspacher heater for cabin heating. Her accommodation is very versatile, allowing for 3 doubles and 2 singles, or for 5 separate sleeping areas. There is plenty of space for a crew of 8.
Midnight Mirage is exceedingly well fitted out. She has a large comfortable Main Cabin. Both heads are complete with showers. Extra water tanks double the normal capacity. Hot water is obtained from the engine heat exchanger or from the shore powered immersion heater. The primary high capacity Cool-box is refrigerated & in addition there is a smaller insulated Cool-box also situated in the galley.
MM is fitted with 240v shore power and a powerful battery charging system to charge the 4 heavy-duty batteries fitted on the boat. A 1500w inverter is also incorporated, and can be used offshore to provide 240v ac power if required. A Pioneer radio/disc player is fitted & has been updated with new speakers. The original set of wind instruments is augmented with an excellent Ratheon Echo sounder, two Colour Chart-Plotters, and the top of the range Raytheon 6000-Plus Autopilot. The primary Plotter is a colour 10 inch Raymarine Pathfinder Series RL80 CRC that is completely integrated with the Autopilot. It is mounted at the Navigator’s Position down below. There is a completely independent Lowrance Colour Plotter fitted at the helm position to provide instant and accurate navigational information. MM has an Avon RIB mounted on davits that is powered by a 2HP Honda 4-stoke. She has a 16Kg Delta anchor with 50metres of chain and an electric windlass. MM has an Easy-drop Stack-Pack System and a Kemp Gas Strut/Kicker that makes Mainsail handling particularly safe & easy. A new roller reefing Genoa was fitted in 2004.
All safety equipment is regularly & thoroughly checked and updated. 8 XM lifejackets incorporating integral harnesses and provided with crutch straps are provided on board. The Centre Cockpit is comfortable & well protected from the elements. The large wheel makes steering a relaxed affair. Expect to cruise effortlessly over long distances at up to 7kts or more under sail or power. A 40 HP Ford diesel provides more than sufficient power. Manoeuvring is made exceedingly simple with the powerful bow-thruster. A spinnaker is provided as standard.
