Jay - (2004)

Bavaria's 38ft yacht is nearly 40ft in length. Designed and constructed by J&J Design she has been fitted out to maximise cruising pleasure. From full standing fore cabin headroom, large heads with accompanying Shower and roomy cabins all with bench seats and mains outlets, Jay comes fully equipped. A linear galley with twin sinks, two burner cooker with oven and fridge on the port side. The saloon table with accommodation for eight seated comfortably thanks to the settees surrounding all sides of the table to starboard. This can convert to a large double for nighttime if required or used as a single berth. Three double cabins are well sized (ALL cabins and saloon have been re-upholstered for 2010). All areas have individual heating supplied by the Eberspacher Airtronic D4 warm air heating unit. Water is plentiful (300L) via twin tanks and heated by the engine or shore power immersion heating. Music is supplied via a JVC FM/CD stereo so do not forget those CD's. An Inverter is installed to keep your Laptops, Mobile Phones and portable DVD players fully charged even if shore power is unavailable from the onboard inverter providing 240V AC from the dedicated large 4 battery service bank (400A/hr).

Her Genoa (New for 2010 season) is set on a Furlex roller drum and conventional main sail with an Easy-drop Stack-Pack System (lazy bag) and so is a joy to sail. All control lines are let back aft to the cockpit, behind the large spray hood, where reefing is done using the patented Selden single line reefing system with a Selden Rod kicker. Jay has four Harken Self-tailing two-speed winches for sail trim. A Volvo Penta 29HP Saildrive powers her with 3 bladed propeller making manoeuvring in confines easy. Instrumentation is entirely Raymarine throughout including a Raychart Colour Chartplotter (RC435) and Smartpilot Course Computer at the helm, plus Auto wind and Tridata. There is a DSC VHF which recieves NAVTEX too and doubles up to display Position, CoG, SoG, BtW and DtW at the Nav Station along with the 2nd Raymarine Chartplotter. Jay is equipped to be at anchor with a 1,000W Lofrans windlass to raise the 20Kg Main anchor on up to 60m chain. She has a 2.7m RIB mounted on snap davits to enhance the mooring experience ashore when coupled with the Honda 2HP four stroke and air cooled outboard. Underway Jay has a hull speed in excess of 7 knots making it possible to leave the Clyde and reach Northern Ireland, Isle of Man or the West Coast. Please don't forget to tell us well in advance so we update the cruising range and provide additional Charts & Cruising Pilots from the standard which is the Firth of Clyde.
